This Foundation is Surreal!!!
“Makeup is there for you to have fun with,” she says. “It should never feel like pressure. It should never feel like a uniform. Feel free to take chances, and take risks, and dare to do something new or different.”
-Rihanna
First of all, congrats Bad Gal RiRi launched her own beauty brand Fenty Beauty. I was beyond excited and couldn't wait to try them!! Before I made any purchase, I swear I watched all videos on Fenty Beauty.com. The first thing I picked was Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation; it described as a matte, long-wear, buildable foundation that has medium to full coverage in 40 shades. The reason why I picked this is I think foundation is the most important step in my makeup routine. Also that 40 shades just make me very confident to find my color is among them. I picked 210 using their shade finder on their website, luckily, this is my perfect shade!!!
The packaging is beautiful and the foundation bottle is sleek and made of glass. I thought the foundation is made in USA and actually it’s made in Italy. Some might concern it doesn't contain enough inside, but actually it's 34ml per bottle compares the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation that is 30ml per bottle. The Pro Filt'r Foundation is just taller than many foundation bottles.
My clean face:
One layer of Pro Filt'r Foundation:
I applied 3 pumps on my skin then used my M.A.C brush to blend. My skin feels smooth and non-drying. When I touched my face, it actually feels like my own skin, which is surreal for a medium to full coverage foundation. This foundation has semi-matte finish. It last 6-7 hours before my nose area get oily. One layer is working great already, but I started to layer it more to get full converge effect. My last picture is how it looks like when it's full coverage, I didn't use any concealer nor color corrector prior to that. I did put NARS concealer under my eyes to cover my dark circle and highlight.
I've been using this foundation a lot lately. Many of my friends asked me what did I use because my skin looks so great. Well, this foundation is the answer. Before it joins my foundation family, my all time favorite was Dior Star Foundation. Now I start to kind of feel bad for my old foundations, not because they are not good just because the Pro Filter is exceptional.
I haven't find any Cons about this foundation. However, one thing you should know is once the foundation is on you skin, you need start to blend, because I found it became matte quickly and will be harder to blend if you wait. But this shouldn't be a big deal once you know it.
